Whaaat the heck, this demonic app sang to me then shut my iPhone down, I had a mini heart attack but was able to power it back up...

Ive just started learning Japanese and this was a really big help on helping me learn the correct pronunciation and strokes of the letters. It was confusing at first because its in japanese but its helpful none-the-less. I recommend it to anyone who wants to learn how to write in hiragana.

This. App. Rocks.

Great app. It sticks in your head very well because of the methods they use. The only thing I would recommend is better audio. It is hard to understand the speakers because the audio quality is not the best. Other than that, its great!

I have the hiragana and katakana apps from these guys both are very good and worth the download. Catchy songs and good pronunciations help memorize the characters and vocabulary. Only thing you need to be careful with is taking your time while writing; it tends to accept touches as full strokes sometimes and that throws off any who are seriously trying to learn. Great for kids and adults and great for students who have a rushed curriculum like most college students. Worth the download.

This app is cool! Prior knowledge of Japanese is helpful but not necessary. The only thing is that there arent many different phrases to work with. Overall fun app!!!!

Very cute and fun app. Perfect for children, but its entertaining enough that anyone can learn hiragana and some vocab from this.

I love this app. Its kind of crazy, very colorful with great sound effects. But it really works, because you cant help but learn hiragana. Ill look for things in katakana and kanji from this developer.

This app was obviously originally intended for Japanese kids, not adults learning Japanese as a foreign language. That being said, it does work well. Would be great for kids, or any adult that can stand the music in this thing. If youre into "Kawai culture" type stuff then this is probably right up your alley. But, if youre like me and cant stand "Kawai" stuff (or anime/manga for that matter) this isnt the app for you.

Its kinda impossible to learn Japanese when the app is IN Japanese........

This app really doesnt teach you much hiragana, but its great review for those who have learned it or are learning it. I suggest finding another app to learn it but use this app to practice! SO FUN!:)

This is so so helpful. It Sounds out the characters and is repetitious enough to get it into your memory!!! Love it!!!! Great job this is how we learn through immersion. hearing the sounds while at the same time learning to write it out makes it so much better than any other language courses Ive ever had!!

A 3 star rating for a couple of reasons. 1: nothing is in English...at all. 2: when you trace the characters you can go outside the lines...not just a little, but like, the entire screen a lot. There are no boundaries that let you know youre doing it wrong. As long as I start in the beginning circle and end in the final circle I can draw what ever and where ever I want. To me, this is a BIG issue. It doesnt help me if it doesnt keep me from doing what I shouldnt be doing. But as long as Im "honest" it doesnt matter as I do try to stay in the lines. Still a massive issue though.

Sometimes, Ill barely touch the screen, and it will say I did a perfect job, and go to the next character!! It needs to be more strict! That being said, the songs in the background (u-u-udon! Udon! U!) really get stuck in your head, so you learn some vocab too!

Its very good app to know how to write hiragana, its almost same as Japanese 2or3years old kindergarten kids do! You can start to write Japanese in Hiragana correctly, neatly with this app;)

Immersion. At this stage, that doesnt work for me and I find the app frustrating and difficult. I like app "Hiragana & Katakana "--very good but wanted something to help me practice writing. This app does this. But showing Romaji (as an on/off option) would help a lot.

Ignore what the person above me said! Yeah it might be confusing, but Ill tell you now: if you want to learn how to write katakana, this is the app for you!! Okay well, Ill help you: when you open up the app, click on the first of the three options there, and then click on whichever you want (its options like: a, i, u, e, o, or ka, ki, ku, ke, ko, etc.) and then itll teach you how to write it!!! Hope this helps!! (:

The app uses picture-letter association to teach the hiragana alphabet which is one of the best methods to use when teaching a language whos alphabet does not follow that of the traditional english one. Its fun to use, I would recommend anyone who is familiar with anime or manga to use this app because they may just come across a few hiragana letters used in the books/shows.
